SOLUTION My machine is not AVX2 compatible and the retroarch buildbot uses the AVX2 version of the pcsx2 core. I think Retroarch was trying to auto-load the buggy core (in my case the GBA gpSP core) so I deleted the content history (not sure this helped) and renamed the retroarch-salamander.cfg file to (this latter part is what I think fixed. I'm not sure what else I can do to troubleshoot. This led to RetroArch crashing and then subsequent starts would immediately crash. To setup the core's required files I have used the standalone PCSX2 program and then copied its folder into retroarch's system folder, I have also made sure the folder names are in lowercase. RetroArch crashes when focused/screen is unlocked Description Whenever RetroArch is put into the background and then resumed while a game is active, it crashes Expected behavior Game remains paused until app is resumed Actual behavior RetroArch cr. Sometimes, it crashes on the first try, sometimes you have to download a couple of cores to trigger this bug. I tried v176 that SaucySarah stated and it doesnt crash. Went back to the GUI to apply a cheat and it crashed, Retroarch has stopped working. I loaded a game, then went back to the GUI to change some custom controls, back to game. Then, after downloading, it hangs at '99 extracted' and crashes. Im also experiencing this on Android Kitkat. I have setup retroarch to use it's own online updater to download cores and assets. As soon as you select the core you want to download, the download progress starts as expected. Here is a pastebin link of my retroarch config file I installed the stable off TitleDB, and I installed Stable 1.6.7 and 1.6.0, just to see if it was the particular version I was using. Retroarch 3DS is completely broken on my n3DS. The arch wiki page for retroarch did not cover my specific issue. Install the current stable on a n3DS with the same firmware, and B9S and Luma versions, then run it. I tried deleting and reinstalling the mupen core and fiddled with settings, but nothing seems to work. Launching any n64 with any core instantly crashes retroarch back to the xbox menu. I have also found CharlesG's post which also did not solve my problem, as I've mentioned above I have tried every driver available (gl, glcore, gl1, vulkan, sdl2, xvideo, x11) and none worked with the PCSX2 core. Hello I just installed retroarch on my Xbox series s by following a tutorial. Step 4: Double-click this service to open it. I have checked the forums for previous topics and have found Marvix's post, my machine does meet the core system requirements as it is SSE2 capable. It uses Retroarch for emulation, so you can play with any Libretro core. I have managed to get a different, PPSSPP, core to work and it runs fine. I have tried every video driver available in the settings and they all crash. I have all the necessary files correctly setup as the core is getting recognised in retroarch and the standalone PCSX2 program works with the same files. I'm trying to run the PCSX2 core in retroarch.
